The LSC Sensory Room is Open!

Becca McCabe, a neurodivergent doctoral student in mechanical engineering and president of the Student Neurodiversity Alliance at Cornell, looks through a nature book in the Learning Strategies Center's new sensory room.

A sensory room is a place where students who are stressed or overstimulated can find respite or escape sensory overload. It’s a welcoming space for all students, especially those who identify as neurodivergent, and it allows them to have greater control over their level of sensory input.

While classes are in session during the Spring 2024 semester, Cornell students can visit the room during the following times:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Fridays 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This spring, Let’s Talk will host weekly sessions in the Sensory Room every Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. starting February 9, 2024.
