Non-LSC Support and Resources

After seeking help from the professor and/or TA, students may decide to pursue tutoring help to enhance their understanding of course material. The Learning Strategies Center (LSC) offers free walk-in tutoring for many courses in biology, chemistry, economics, genetics, math, physics, and statistics.

For students seeking tutoring for courses not supported by the LSC, these are some of the additional tutoring resources available at Cornell:

 

Knight Writing Institute
The Knight Institute for Writing would like Cornell students to be aware of the times and locations of their Walk-In Service, open to ALL members of the Cornell community.  Tutoring is available here.  To schedule an appointment and to see walk in hours, please go to the Knight Institute website: http://knight.as.cornell.edu/wc

 

OADI Writing Assistance
The Office of Academic and Diversity Initiatives offers writing tutoring with Dr. Sarah Jefferis. Please email sbj3@cornell.edu to set up an appointment.  Further advising and tutoring information can be found here.

 

For Biology Majors

For CALS Students

For students studying Economics

The Dept. of Physics maintains a list of non-vetted physics tutors available for hire.

 

For students enrolled in Psychology 1101
Tutoring is available directly from the course.

 

If you do not find a tutor using these links, Please check with the instructor and/or the department offering the course.

If you still haven’t found a tutor, Please ask the Chairperson, Director of Undergraduate Studies, or the Director of Graduate Studies in that department. (The print version of the Courses of Study Catalogue lists these people for most departments, or see www.courses.cornell.edu/) They may be able to assist in identifying a potential tutor.
